About Our Hair, Craft & Ordering
This guide explains how Crown & Bloom Exotic Hair works — from how our pieces are made to how orders are processed — so you can choose the experience best suited to you.
About Crown & Bloom
The Crown & Bloom Approach
At Crown & Bloom Exotic Hair, every piece is created with intention, structure, and longevity in mind. We operate a craftsmanship-led model with clear distinctions between ready-made offerings and bespoke couture work, allowing clients to choose the level of personalisation, timeline, and artistry that suits them best.
Our standard is simple: premium hair, disciplined construction, and a finish that remains beautiful beyond the first wear. We do not chase trends — we refine classics and release statements when they meet the house standard.
What makes Crown & Bloom “Exotic Hair”?
“Exotic” refers to our approach — rare textures, refined finishes, and limited releases created for clients who value quality over quantity. We focus on hair that holds shape, behaves predictably, and styles elegantly over time.
Every unit is quality-checked for density balance, lace integrity, construction symmetry, and overall finish before dispatch.
Ready-to-Wear vs Atelier
At Crown & Bloom Exotic Hair, our work is offered through two distinct experiences: Ready-to-Wear and Atelier. Both reflect our standards of craftsmanship, but they are designed for different lifestyles, timelines, and levels of personalisation.
Ready-to-Wear
Ready-to-Wear pieces are created using Central Asian Virgin hair, selected for its softness, consistency, and ability to hold shape beautifully over time. The hair is lightly refined to enhance longevity, manageability, and finish while preserving a natural look and feel.
These pieces are professionally prepared in advance using our signature standards and offered in standard sizing. The structure and design are pre-defined, allowing for a faster turnaround without compromising quality.
Best suited for: Clients seeking premium hair, a polished finish, and convenience with minimal wait time.
The Atelier
The Atelier is our bespoke, couture-led offering. Atelier pieces are created exclusively using raw hair, chosen for its untouched character, individuality, and natural movement.
Each Atelier order is designed from the ground up based on the client’s preferences. Hair may be ventilated or wefted depending on the desired outcome, allowing for greater flexibility in density, movement, texture behaviour, and overall design.
This process is slower and more intentional, resulting in a one-of-one creation that reflects both craftsmanship and personal vision.
Best suited for: Clients seeking a highly personalised piece, raw hair artistry, and a couture-level finish.
Ready-to-Wear prioritises consistency, longevity, and speed.
The Atelier prioritises raw hair, personalisation, and design freedom.
Do you keep pieces in stock?
Ready-to-Wear units may be available for immediate purchase depending on current releases. Atelier work is made to order and depends on raw hair availability and production scheduling.
Some textures and specifications are offered in limited runs and may not return once sold out.
The Craft
Hair Textures & Sourcing
We offer a considered range of textures across both our Ready-to-Wear and Atelier offerings.
A texture refers to the natural pattern and origin of the hair, as well as whether it is classified as Virgin or Raw. Our Ready-to-Wear textures are consistently available and form the foundation of our core range.
Current Ready-to-Wear textures include:
- Windsor Virgin
- Windsor Virgin 613
- Rococo Curl
For the Atelier, we work exclusively with raw hair, sourced from consenting donors across Asia, Europe, and South America. This hair remains in its most natural state and is selected specifically for bespoke creation.
All hair used by Crown & Bloom Exotic Hair is ethically sourced and carefully selected. Each unit undergoes multiple quality checks before dispatch to ensure it meets our standards of finish, structure, and longevity.
Virgin vs Raw — what’s the difference?
Virgin hair refers to hair that has not been chemically processed (no permanent colour or relaxers) and is selected for consistency. Our Ready-to-Wear Virgin hair is lightly refined for manageability and longevity while preserving a natural feel.
Raw hair remains in its most untouched state — unrefined, highly individual, and prized for natural movement and character. Raw hair is used exclusively in the Atelier and is best suited for clients who want couture-level customisation.
Lace Options
CB Thin HD Lace
CB Thin HD Lace is designed for seamless, everyday realism. Lightweight and breathable, it balances delicacy with durability and blends effortlessly into the skin for a refined, natural hairline.
Best suited for: Frequent wear, longevity, and comfort.
CB Hollywood HD Lace
CB Hollywood HD Lace is our most delicate and visually discreet lace option. Exceptionally fine and highly transparent, it is designed to disappear against the skin, even at close range.
Best suited for: Editorial looks, special occasions, events, and photography.
CB Hollywood HD Lace is approximately three times finer than CB Thin HD Lace. CB Thin HD Lace remains extremely soft and natural-looking while offering greater stability for repeated wear.
Construction Methods
We primarily work with Hand-Tied and Full Lace systems.
Hand-Tied
Hand-Tied construction focuses on realism and comfort in key visible areas, with structure designed to support stability and ease of wear.
Best suited for: Comfort, realism, and everyday wear.
Full Lace
Full Lace construction allows hair to move freely in all directions, offering maximum styling flexibility including up-dos and versatile parting. Full Lace pieces are typically created within the Atelier due to the level of detail involved.
Best suited for: Maximum styling freedom and couture-level versatility.
How long does a unit last?
Longevity depends on wear frequency, installation method, heat usage, and overall care. With proper maintenance, many clients enjoy long-term performance from their units.
Hair is like couture: it behaves best when treated like an investment — stored properly, washed gently, and styled with intention.
Fit, Finish & Personalisation
Sizing
Our wigs are available in standard cap sizes. XS and XL sizes are available as custom options.
- Small: 20” – 21.5”
- Medium: 22” – 23.5”
- Large: 24” – 25.5”
If you’re between sizes, we typically recommend sizing up for comfort, then adjusting with an elastic band or professional fitting.
Density, Length & Finish
Density refers to how full a unit appears and is considered based on hair type, construction method, and intended styling.
Lengths are measured when the hair is straightened. Curly or textured hair will appear shorter due to natural shrinkage.
As all pieces are crafted by hand, slight variations in finish are natural and part of the bespoke process.
Can I customise a Ready-to-Wear unit?
Some Ready-to-Wear units may allow limited customisation (such as subtle styling or select finishing services), depending on the piece and current workload.
For full customisation — density changes, lace selection, construction choices, or couture-level finishing — we recommend the Atelier experience.
Colouring & Chemical Processing
Colouring services are available on select units and assessed on a case-by-case basis. Colouring is a chemical process and may alter the texture, longevity, and behaviour of the hair.
For Atelier orders, colour choices are discussed during consultation. Once hair has been coloured or chemically altered, it cannot be returned or exchanged.
We prioritise hair integrity and will advise honestly if a requested colour is not recommended.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care is essential to maintaining the quality and lifespan of your unit. We recommend gentle handling, minimal heat use, and professional maintenance where possible.
Hair care guidance will be provided after purchase. Improper handling or unsuitable products may reduce longevity.
Ordering & Payment
Consultations & Production
Atelier orders may require a consultation prior to production to ensure clarity around expectations, timelines, and design details.
Once production has commenced, no changes can be made to the order specifications, including hair type, lace, construction method, density, length, or colour.
Processing, Shipping & Customs
Each product clearly states its processing time. We do not offer express services due to the level of quality control involved in our work.
Processing time refers to the period required to prepare or create your order. Shipping time begins once the order has been dispatched.
International orders may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, or clearance fees imposed by local authorities. These charges are the responsibility of the recipient.
Payment Methods
We process card payments securely via Paystack Inc., a subsidiary of Stripe US Inc. Card payments are accepted worldwide and processed in Nigerian Naira (NGN). Most international debit and credit cards are supported.
A currency converter is available on our website for reference. Final card charges are made in NGN.
For clients who prefer to pay in another currency or in instalments, we offer a bank transfer option. All transfers are made directly into our official business account and may be used for full payments, deposits, or structured payment plans.
Deposits
Where a deposit option is available, the deposit secures either:
- a Ready-to-Wear unit for reservation, or
- production time, materials, and resources for an Atelier order.
By placing a deposit, the client confirms their intention to proceed under the terms outlined in our policies below.
Can I change my order after paying?
If your order has not entered preparation or production, we may be able to assist with minor administrative changes. Once preparation begins (Ready-to-Wear) or production begins (Atelier), changes are not possible.
This protects quality control and ensures every piece follows a clear, disciplined process from start to finish.
House Policies & Availability
Ready-to-Wear Policy
Ready-to-Wear pieces are professionally prepared in advance and offered in standard specifications. Where a deposit has been paid, cancellation may be considered only if the unit has not been prepared, altered, packaged, or dispatched.
Once a Ready-to-Wear unit has been handled, customised, or dispatched, the order is considered final and any deposit paid becomes non-refundable. Returns or exchanges are considered only in the event of a verified fault.
Atelier Policy (Bespoke Orders)
All Atelier orders are bespoke and made to order. Deposits for Atelier orders secure raw hair allocation, production time, and artisan resources.
Once production has commenced, all deposits are non-refundable. Cancellations are not permitted once work has begun. Any remaining balance remains payable.
Faults & Quality Review
Refunds or replacements are considered only where a verified fault is confirmed to be directly attributable to Crown & Bloom Exotic Hair.
Minor variations in density, colour tone, texture behaviour, or finish are not considered faults and are part of handcrafted production.
Any issues must be reported within 48 hours of delivery, supported by clear photo or video evidence.
Colouring & Chemical Processing (Policy)
Once hair has been coloured, lightened, or chemically altered, it is not eligible for return, refund, or exchange under any circumstances.
We reserve the right to decline colour requests that may compromise hair integrity.
