Ventilation I: Foundations (In-Person Class)
A two-day, in-person class for beginners, on HD and transparent lace. Prepping and cutting lace for frontals and closures, then the knots (single, double, half and split) and basic repairs and patching, taught in a group of up to six. You leave with a 6x6 closure started, to finish at home. Full kit included.

Ventilation I is for beginners. Two days in a small group, with your work checked and corrected in front of you, not over a screen.
Day 1: prepping and cutting lace
- Two laces: HD and transparent, and how each one handles
- Prepping lace on the block: measuring, pinning and tension
- Cutting lace for frontals and closures
- Setting up your 6x6 closure, ready to knot
Day 2: the knots, and basic repairs
- Single, double, half and split knots, each on your own practice patch
- Basic repairs: patching a gap in lace and re-knotting it
- Your 6x6 closure started, with Gold watching
Six weeks at home
You finish the 6x6 closure on your own bench. Send photos at week two and week four and you get one fix back each time, so you arrive at Ventilation II ready.
The kit, yours to keep
Ventilating needles and holder, a block, pins, HD and transparent lace for cutting and knotting, patch-repair lace, and hair for your patch and your closure.
Dates and times
South East London: Sunday 6 and Monday 7 June 2027.
Manchester: Sunday 20 and Monday 21 June 2027.
Both days run 10:00 to 16:00. The venue address is sent when your deposit is confirmed.
Group size
Up to six people, so everyone's knots get looked at properly.
Paying
Choose your city, then pay a £150 deposit to hold your place, or pay in full. The balance is invoiced before your dates.
Next
Ventilation II follows six weeks later in the same city: multi-directional knotting, density, custom hairlines, adding Hollywood lace, then bleaching and sealing the knots. Book both together for £995.
